Cool Down this Summer with Essential Oils

Lesley Silver

Summer time is coming - well for some it already has. What are a few ways for you to stay cool these next few months with Essential Oils?

Some may enjoy staying at home in front of the air-conditioner blowing and just keep cool that way. But, if you are like me, you want to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. From the beaches, to great hikes, or just a stroll in the park.

So here are a few tips I use to stay cool when the heat comes your way. (These are great for women who also have those hot flashes too)

Menthol Essential Oils are amazing - cooling, refreshing

Peppermint: This is my go to Essential Oils not just for headaches - it really helps to cool you down. It will also help when you begin to feel sleepy from the heat.

Spearmint: Isn't as "strong" as peppermint. It has the same properties but less of the menthols. It also has antioxidants, So this is great if you find peppermint a little too much - or you can also blend the two together for a good balance.

Another great blend is Spearmint and Lemongrass - this blend will keep you cool - but can also help with keeping you free of pain.

Which ever blend you use - I put a mix (or just decide what oil you would like 12-15 drops in a 30 ml Glass Spray Bottle - add water. Spray when needed to cool you down. Shake each time before using.

Another great tip - in the heat you must ensure you have your water bottles available, to keep hydrated, why not add some of your favorite Essential Oils to the bottle ( make sure that it is a glass bottle - and only use 100% pure Essential Oils that can be ingested).

What ever you do this summer - stay COOL - have FUN - and ENJOY
