Are you going through "The Change"?

Lesley Silver

The "Change" for me who has pretty much gone through it I really dislike the way people discuss it. Menopause, Perimenopause, what ever we call it - it happens to women. It is definitely not the most enjoyable time.

I wish I knew more about Essential Oils and the benefit's before I went through it. I still get the hot flashes, or for me it is more the sweats. But at least now I can spritz myself with Peppermint that I add to a spray bottle with Water and it works wonders.

What are some of the other amazing Essential Oils that can help you get through this time? Read on....

SO how does this work! When you inhale Essential Oils it will trigger the emotional part of your brain, since the brain is basically the starting point of various pathways that trigger the release of hormones, with the right Essential Oils, you can relax your state and can over time regulate the estrogen levels in your body.

This is awesome - so lets find out which oils can be great for you.

Lavender: Anxiety and Insomnia are two of the symptoms, of Menopause. This oil is great as it is wonderful for stress release, and because is can also relax you - if you have insomnia it can help get you to sleep.

Diffuse 5 drops of lavender oil at home, add 5 drops to a warm water bath or apply 3 drops topically to your temples, back or neck or wrists.

Clary Sage: This Oil is known for it capabilities to regulate estrogen levels. It also serves as a natural remedy for emotional imbalances, like depression and anxiety.

Diffuse 3-5 drops of clary sage to help balance hormone levels and relieve stress. To ease cramps and pain, massage 5 drops of clary sage with 5 drops of coconut oil into your stomach and any other area of concern.

Thyme: Improves progesterone production, Low levels of progesterone are associated with menopause symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings and insomnia.

Add 2 drops of thyme to a warm bath or rub 2-3 drops with coconut oil into your abdomen

Sandalwood: Reduces stress, promotes relaxation, can boost mental clarity and even help you to relax.

Inhale sandalwood directly from the bottle, diffuse it at home or apply 2-3 drops to your wrists and bottoms of the feet.

As mentioned earlier my favorite:

Peppermint: Incredible for those Hot Flashes.

Basil: If you find yourself becoming "low" and need to improve your mood, increase energy, find yourself tired, reach for the basil oil.

All of these oils can be used in blends with a carrier oil or add them to your diffuser. If you would like to learn more about these and other Essential Oils, you can contact me.
